Fair Housing Statement

Equal Housing Opportunity. What that means for how we describe neighborhoods, situations, and criminal records.

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Our commitment

Dallas Apartment Locators Group complies with the federal Fair Housing Act and the Texas Fair Housing Act. We provide housing opportunities to all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. We do not discriminate in the properties we present, the information we provide, or the service we give.

How this shapes what we publish

We do not characterize neighborhood safety

You will not find "safest areas", crime commentary, or "good part of town" on this site. Safety framing correlates with racial composition and is the clearest steering exposure a locator has. We describe price, commute corridors, transit access, and building stock age instead. Those are the facts that price a lease.

We do not steer

We do not describe a neighborhood by the racial, ethnic, religious, familial, or national-origin composition of the people who live there, and we do not use proxy language for it. You will not see "great for young professionals" or "perfect for families" on any page here. We describe the property, the price, and the terms.

Criminal history is stated factually

Where a page covers felony, misdemeanor, eviction, or broken-lease situations, we state property policies as facts: lookback windows, offense classes, case-by-case review. We never frame a record as automatically disqualifying or automatically acceptable. Blanket exclusions based on criminal history carry disparate-impact exposure under HUD's 2016 guidance, and property policies vary. We describe what each property requires and match what you tell us against it.

Disability

We never reference a renter's disability. Accessibility features are property attributes and we describe them as such. Requests for reasonable accommodation or modification, including assistance animals, are handled between you and the property owner under the Fair Housing Act; we will tell you which properties have which stated policies.

Copy discipline

Language that sorts people into tiers drifts toward implying who belongs where. We describe the property, the price, and the terms — not the renter.

Advertising

All property information on this site is subject to the Fair Housing Act, which makes it illegal to advertise any preference, limitation, or discrimination based on protected characteristics. We do not knowingly accept any advertising that violates the law.
